What is up with Privateers this week. Have they awaken from their long sleep?

On 20, May 2009 the Privateer press announced new Retribution model to the community with this press release:

“Dawnlord Vyros views the military might of the new Retribution as a sword in his hands, one sufficient to sunder any obstacle. He has the loyalty of the Dawnguard and the volunteered assets of dozens of other houses. The dawnlord has a reputation as a bold and forthright general who leads by example. Even pursuits such as falconry Vyros extends to applications in war, linking his mind to his hawk’s to look down from above and survey the battlefield.

Vyros comes in a blister (PIP 35001). A player may field one Vyros in his Retribution army.”

So we got an elf, with falcon who is a general and could be a warcaster or a solo. The bird is not a warcaster, that is sure. Or is it ? Anyway I have learned that it sometimes lands on Myrmadons. They usually look the other way and clean up afterwards, keeping the insults to themselves. Vyros will fit on 30 mm base and he will undoubtly use his sword if he does not tip ower. It is a mighty big swodr that one, so my money would be on the warcaster.

On May, 4 2009 Privateer press updated their website with the following piece of knickknack:

“Releasing in September, Forces of WARMACHINE: Retribution of Scyrah will provide everything players will need to field the new faction, including model statistics, background material, and a modeling and painting guide. The book will be written for use with the upcoming new edition of game rules, WARMACHINE Mk II, which releases early 2010. Privateer Press’ bimonthly No Quarter Magazine will feature articles in issues #25 and #26 that will allow players to use their Retribution of Scyrah models with the current WARMACHINE rules.

When asked about the new faction Privateer Press Chief Creative Officer Matt Wilson said, “Retribution of Scyrah will be the first real look at the long-secluded and mysterious elven kingdom of Ios. The very first thing people should note is that these aren’t your standard tree-hugging elves.” In fact, Wilson went on to explain, the faction will include highly disciplined troops outfitted with some of the most advanced technology in the Iron Kingdoms, backed up by the never-before-seen sleek and powerful myrmidon warjacks. “The Retribution of Scyrah will bring amazing new depth and feeling to the WARMACHINE game in terms of play style and abilities,” Wilson concluded.”

From confirmed sources we have found out that elusive Elves are still hiding in the forests near Ios and planning their move. Travelers are urged to stay out of the Iosian territory, that they flagged off or be prepared to fight. “Retribution is at hand.”, is heard from whispering shouts …
