I cannot believe this isn't documented in the application. I guessed it was linked to an admin account but have only been able to find your post to prove it!

Thank you Matt.<br

You CANNOT enroll your fingerprints for the built in Administrator account. It will give you an enrollment failure every time. It will work for regular users and users with administrative access.
You wouldn't believe how hard it was to find this information.

Just thought I’d comment here as this is the first result on Google:

You CANNOT enroll your fingerprints for the built in Administrator account. I got a 8530p with win7 x64 enterprise, and a 2810 scanner.
It worked, once, but after reinstalling it doesn't anymore...
Tried the same steps, installing, reinstalling, removing, disabling, I just can't find it!
I don't have ProtectTools installed, I assume the're not mandatory?

OMG… taking a lot of my patience…

I got a 8530p with win7 x64 enterprise, and a 2810 scanner.<br

HP6730b -- Windows 7 Enterprise x64 -- AES2810
Beta Drivers installed, uninstalled and re-installed, Biometric Devices shows up in Control Panel but cannot manage fingerprint Data.
Thanks for your thorough HOWTO, hopefully the new driver will work once moved on from Beta.

Same problem here…<br
